School Hours

Children are able to be dropped off at school from 8.30am onwards.

The morning bell rings at 9.00am and it is expected that all children are ready to start the day, with bags unpacked and goodbyes said by this time. 

• 9:00am - 11:00am Class time

• 11:00am - 11:30am Morning tea

• 11:00am - 1:00pm Class time

• 1:00pm - 1:50pm Lunch time

• 1:50pm - 3:00pm Class time

The school day ends at 3.00pm. 

We expect children to have left the school grounds by 3.15pm unless they are being directly supervised by a caregiver. 

Absences

If your child is unable to attend school, please notify the office before 9:00am by phone, email, or through HERO.

If we have not received a notification of absence, you will be contacted to confirm your child’s whereabouts.

The Ministry of Education requires us to record a reason for every absence (for example: illness, medical or dental appointments, or family holidays). If no reason is provided, the absence must be recorded as truant.

Please notify the school office directly rather than your child’s classroom teacher. Teachers may not always be able to access messages during a busy school day.

Lateness

If your child arrives after 9:00am, a parent or caregiver must sign them in at the office. This helps ensure our attendance records are accurate.

Leaving/Returning during School Hours

If your child needs to leave school during the day, they must be signed out at the office by a parent or authorised adult.

When returning to school, children must be signed back in at the office by an adult before returning to class.

These procedures help us maintain accurate attendance records, ensure student safety, and allow us to account for all students in the event of an emergency.
