School Hours

Children are able to be dropped off at school from 8.30am onwards.

The morning bell rings at 9.00am and it is expected that all children are ready to start the day, with bags unpacked and goodbyes said by this time. 

• 9:00am - 11:00am Class time

• 11:00am - 11:30am Morning tea

• 11:00am - 1:00pm Class time

• 1:00pm - 1:50pm Lunch time

• 1:50pm - 3:00pm Class time

The school day ends at 3.00pm. 

We expect children to have left the school grounds by 3.15pm unless they are being directly supervised by a caregiver. 

Absences

If your child is unable to attend school, please notify the office before 9:00 am by phone, email, or via HERO. This helps us ensure your child’s safety.  If we have not received a notice of absence, the school office will contact you.

The Ministry of Education requires us to record a reason for every absence (e.g., illness, dental appointment, holiday). If no reason is provided, the absence will be recorded as truant.

Please note: It is best to inform the school office directly rather than the classroom teacher, as teachers may not always be able to pass messages on during a busy day.

Lateness

If your child arrives after 9.00am, they must come into the office to be signed in. If they have not been signed in, and the class roll has been completed, you may receive a phone call regarding their absence! 

Leaving/Returning during School Hours

If your child needs to leave school during the day, they must be signed out at the office by a parent or authorised adult. When returning to school, the child must be signed back in at the office by an adult as well. 

These procedures help ensure student safety and allow us to account for all students in the event of an emergency.
